Sidney City Schools will be holding a preschool informational event on May 7, 2019, at the Amos Memorial Public Library in the Community Room beginning at 6:30pm.
Sidney City Schools is pleased to offer preschool beginning with the 2019-2020 school year for both children with disabilities and their typically developing peers. Registration for the upcoming year is now open!
As educators, it is our goal to support the whole child by providing learning opportunities in all areas of development including social-emotional skills and academic foundations. Children develop an excitement for learning through a play-based, multi-sensory approach and meaningful interactions with others.
We welcome children 3-5 years of age while offering a range of services free to children with a qualifying disability. Typically developing children serve as peer models for social skills, behavior, and language/communication skills. Therefore, peer models are enrolled on a tuition basis and must be toilet trained. Full-pay tuition is $125 per month and is on a sliding scale based on family size and income.
All students are required to complete Sidney City Schools online registration through Final Forms. This is how we collect health and emergency medical information, as well as obtain parental agreements for items such as photo releases, field trips, and network acceptable use.
To complete your child’s registration, visit https://sidney-oh.finalforms.com/ to create a new account, or login using an existing account. Please be sure to register your child for the upcoming 2019-2020 school year.
Given our space and staffing, we anticipate being able to accommodate at least 175 typically developing peer models in addition to the anticipated children with disabilities. We don’t anticipate having a waitlist at this point in time but we recommend peer model families register soon to secure a spot.
All children, including those with disabilities, will need to provide a copy of the child’s birth certificate, proof of residency, and custody documents as applicable.
Peer model children paying monthly tuition will also need to provide proof of income for Income Levels A-E (see our preschool page for the chart), as well as pay the $25 registration fee. Residency within the district is not required for typically developing peer models.
Prior to the first day of school, every child must also provide their immunization record and medical/dental statements, an annual requirement while in preschool.
We will be holding a preschool informational event on May 7, 2019, at the Amos Memorial Public Library in the Community Room beginning at 6:30pm.
More information on preschool can be found on the Sidney City Schools website at www.sidneycityschools.org/content/preschool.
Some parents may suspect their child has a disability or special need but the child has not yet been identified. We will hold screening and assessments over the summer. The first screening will take place on May 29; time and location are still being determined. If you feel your child has a special need or disability, please contact Beth Abbott at 937-497-2200 for more information.
We look forward to beginning your child’s educational journey with Sidney City Schools.
