School District Earned Income Tax Goes Into Effect January 1, 2022 Earned Income Tax in Effect January 1, 2022

In May of 2021, voters residing in the Sidney City School district passed a new Earned Income Tax at a rate of .75% (or 0.0075) which goes into effect January 1, 2022. This school district Earned Income Tax applies to residents of the Sidney City School District only. Residents of the Sidney City School District are encouraged to contact their employer as soon as possible to discuss withholding this tax. Residents of the district should have received a postcard in the mail from the Ohio Department of Taxation regarding this.

Sidney City Schools' goal is to keep students in school, in-person five days a week. We were able to do this pretty well last year with the help of families and our community. Here is guidance related to COVID-19 for the 2021-2022 school year. 

ALL SCS Students to Receive FREE Meals for 2021-2022 School Year Free Meals for 2021-2022 School Year

Sidney City Schools is pleased to share that the USDA has approved the Seamless Summer Option (SSO) extension for food services again for the upcoming school year. This means all K-12 students at Sidney City Schools will receive free breakfast and lunch meals for the entire 2021-2022 school year. 

All students will receive a free regular breakfast and/or lunch. Any additional items, like ala carte items, extra meal items, or extra milk will have to be paid for by the student.
